Reconciling Trauma in the Body with Trauma in the Land
In this evening session hosted by Siena Retreat Center, Brenda Salgado will share personal stories and indigenous and ancestral teachings about this time of humanity, and how we can work together to create racial, ancestral, and land healing, and a deeper connection with one another. Making space to hold, express, and properly honor our history is a vital piece of the journey, and a way to reconcile our individual stories of separation, disconnection, and harm to create a more vibrant future for the land and for future generations.

Suicide Prevention Skills for Rural Ministry
Rural suicide happens more frequently in rural than in urban areas and is frequently shrouded with stigma. People often turn to clergy and ministry leaders for help, but these individuals often have little training in knowing how to ask someone about thoughts of suicide, how to connect them to help, and/or how to provide ministry after a suicide attempt or death.
Together with a cohort of other faith leaders, you will learn approaches and skills that equip you for prevention, intervention, and bereavement tasks so you can effectively care for people struggling with thoughts of suicide or impacted by suicide.
