Associate Chaplain

Bookkeeper - Part Time

Prince of Peace is seeking a part-time Bookkeeper to assist the Treasurer by performing basic bookkeeping functions involving the receipt and disbursement of cash. Prince of Peace Lutheran Church uses fund accounting and records transactions using the cash basis method of accounting. Employer and Employee can agree on a schedule meeting the needs of both. All work is done on-site during normal working hours.

What You’ll Do: Record all bank deposits into the accounting system, crediting them to the appropriate fund and account. Review all vendor invoices and statements, securing staff approvals and account and fund designations for those expenditures that are not routine.
Create checks to pay vendors in a timely manner, assuring that proper accounts and funds are used to classify the expenditures. Provide all relevant information to the on-line payroll processor.

Through the Service and Justice unit, the ELCA Churchwide Organization fosters and facilitates this church’s engagement in service and promotes efforts to call and act for justice. Its work includes engaging in mission, service, and justice in accompaniment with churches and organizations in other countries; engaging with communities, coalitions, and networks, congregations, and synods in service and justice work within the territorial jurisdiction of this church; and providing guidance to members on matters of social justice.

 This position develops partnerships with other churchwide units, synods, congregations, and ELCA institutions and agencies to provide voice for the African Descent members in the ELCA and to respond effectively to the needs of the ELCA African Descent community.  This position oversees the implementation of the African Descent Strategy, focusing on strengthening African Descent congregations, building leadership capacity, and justice work, and is engaged in this church’s commitment to diversity and inclusiveness.

Program Manager, Total Inclusion!

Part-time, Contract, Fully Remote

Total Inclusion! is a grant-funded collaboration between the ELCA churchwide organization and the Lutheran Outdoor Ministries Network (LOM). The mission of “Total Inclusion!” is to educate, encourage and equip Lutheran outdoor ministry sites (members of LOM) to grow in their intentional welcome of groups of people who have historically been marginalized in church and at camp, specifically people of color, people who are LGBTQIA+, and people with disabilities. 

The Project Manager’s responsibilities will include building relationships with LOM executive directors, administering sub-grants and reporting, building a mentoring network, telling and amplifying grant/inclusion stories, supporting applicants and grantees, reporting to the LOM Diversity Committee, planning and executing a final gathering of grantees in Year 3, and in the final years, creating a longitudinal evaluation/impact report.

This is a half-time, contract position for three years and includes benefits. This position will begin January 1, 2026 and conclude December 31, 2028.
