Special Requests

  • For those affected by the WI tornadoes especially the community of Apple Grove Lutheran Church. Loving God, we lift before you this night all those who were in the path of tonight’s storms. Wrap your loving arms around the individuals and families who have lost homes and livelihoods and above all their sense of security. Watch over rescue workers and all who answer the call to provide assistance to their siblings in humanity who now stand in need – give them courage and compassion in equal measure. Help the community of faith at Apple Grove Lutheran Church to sense your presence in their midst. Use your people near and far to bring comfort, hope, and healing to those who have lost so much. In Jesus’ holy name we pray, Amen.

  • Wise and compassionate God, help us to be willing to respond to the needs of refugees and asylum-seekers, not to see them as burdens, and shift our care unto others. Help our leaders act with generosity and compassion. We pray for people living in fear of detention and removal, and for those in detention currently, facing an uncertain future. We ask that they know your love, and presence, and are filled with your peace. Open our eyes, that we may see injustice; open our ears that we may hear a stranger’s cry. Open our mouths that we may speak words of welcome. Bless the work of our hands so that together we may act.

  • Join our prayers and heartbreak with Red Willow Ministries as they grieve the loss of two of their summer staff members following a car accident. May God bring comfort and support to all who bear the pain of this tragedy, especially the families, loved ones, and camp staff. “Almighty God, source of all mercy and giver of comfort, graciously tend those who mourn, that, casting all their sorrow on you, they may know the consolation of your love; through Christ our Lord. Amen” (ELW, p. 281). Rest eternal grant them, O Lord; and let light perpetual shine upon them.

  • For retired Pastor Barbara Bruneau recovering from a stroke

  • For Pastor Jon Schmidt while he is on sabbatical
