Prayer Requests from the Synod

  • For those Grieving

We pray for the friends and family of Deacon Dr. Ed Kruse. Surround them with your peace that passes all understanding and the comfort of the resurrection promise as they mourn his passing. Lord, in your mercy… receive our prayer.

  • For our Neighbors in Need

We pray for those in Westby recovering from recent hail storms and for the community of Blair as they navigate the aftermath of the tornado. Strengthen them as they rebuild. We also lift up those struggling with the seasonal burden of allergies, seeking relief and health for all. Lord, in your mercy… receive our prayer.

  • For Safety and Provision

We give thanks that lives were spared, yet we ask for Your protection as repairs begin. Guide the hands of the contractors, mechanics, and claims adjusters. May honesty and efficiency define the work being done, and may those without reliable transportation find grace and support from their community. Lord, in your mercy… receive our prayer.

  • For the Care of Creation

On this Earth Day, we give thanks for the gift of your creation. Teach us to be faithful stewards of the land, waters, and air, that we may preserve your handiwork for generations to come. Lord, in your mercy… receive our prayer.

Emerging Leaders

  • For Pastor Phil Waselik during his time of sabbatical; may it be a season of deep rest and spiritual renewal.

  • For Michael Pechman as he completes his first year of study at Wartburg Seminary

  • For the voting members of our upcoming Synod Assembly, that they may be led by the Holy Spirit.

  • For Global Connections

We pray for Secretary Martin Balcar as he prepares to visit us from the Czech Republic. Bless his travels and use this time to strengthen the ties with our companion synod, reminding us that we are one body in Christ across every border. Lord, in your mercy… receive our prayer.

Local Ministry Partners

  • Interfaith Leaders Coalition

God of Unity, we thank you for the Interfaith Leaders Coalition of greater La Crosse. Keep their collaborative spirit vibrant as they build bridges of understanding and work for the common good of every neighbor. Lord, in your mercy… receive our prayer.

  • Lutheran Social Services

Merciful God, sustain the hands and hearts of the staff at Lutheran Social Services. As they provide housing, care, and hope, let their work be a living reminder that no one is forgotten in your kingdom. Lord, in your mercy… receive our prayer.

  • For Sugar Creek Bible Camp

Creator God, bless the sacred ground of Sugar Creek Bible Camp. As seasons change, prepare the hearts of all who visit to hear your voice in the rustle of the trees and the fellowship of the campfire. Lord, in your mercy… receive our prayer.

Wider Church Partners in Ministry

  • For the Rocky Mountain Synod

  • For the Southwestern Minnesota Synod

  • For the Wisconsin Council of Churches

Spirit of Wisdom, embolden the Wisconsin Council of Churches. Use their collective voice to advocate for justice and to weave together a stronger, more compassionate fabric across our state. Lord, in your mercy… receive our prayer.

  • For Our Companion Synods

Faithful God, we celebrate our kin in the Iglesia Luterana del Peru and the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren (ECCB). Shorten the miles between us and deepen our friendship in our shared mission. Lord, in your mercy… receive our prayer.
