Hello! My name is El Egbert, and I recently returned to the US after spending a year in Central Europe through the ELCA’s Young Adults in Global Mission (YAGM) program. I am excited to be visiting LuMin La Crosse as a representative of Young Adult Communities within the churchwide organization to talk more about my experience and other ministry opportunities for young adults.
YAGM provides young adults, ages 21 to 35, with the opportunity to experience community in an international context. The program focuses on ministry work through the lens of accompaniment with some of our global companion churches. Through YAGM, volunteers are encouraged to confront issues of wealth and poverty, racial privilege, economic disparity, and globalization - all through the lens of faith.
If you are interested in learning more about the YAGM program, or other opportunities for young adults to be involved in ministry, I will be visiting LuMin La Crosse on Tuesday, December 2nd @ 7:30 pm and would love to meet and chat with you!
