Loving God, during this extra busy season of Advent, we ask you to watch over all our leaders—our pastors, deacons, staff, musicians, and volunteers—who give so much of their time; help them find moments of rest, renew their energy, and feel how much their dedicated work means. We also pray for the children getting ready to tell the Christmas story; may they feel the wonder and radical love of this amazing narrative, so it becomes a meaningful part of their own life story.
We pray for all those within our community and beyond who are facing the profound challenge of cancer, especially remembering Alice DaFoe, Pastor Joanne Richmond, and Pastor Gloria Stubitsch and Craig; grant them strength, comfort in their treatments, and surround them with loving support and unwavering hope.
For the people and whole communities in the Caribbean that have suffered devastation and loss from Hurricane Melissa, especially across Jamaica, Haiti, Cuba and the Bahamas. We ask God to strengthen their faith as they recover and rebuild and to bless them with support, resources, funding, volunteers and prayers for the duration of their recovery.
Sovereign God, where conflict and discord have long persisted, we ask you to intervene, guiding nations and leaders to paths of peace and lasting reconciliation, especially in Palestine, Israel, Eastern Europe, Northern Africa, and sub-Saharan Africa. We remember in prayer the millions of people who have suffered and been displaced, seeking refuge in unfamiliar lands; grant them safety, comfort, and the restoration of home.
