Special Requests
For retired Pastor Kent Johnson and his family upon the death of his wife Dr. Lee Johnson
For the family and friends of former synod Pastor Sue Sheffer-Meyer who recently passed away.
We pray for all those within our community and beyond who are facing the profound challenge of cancer, especially remembering Alice DaFoe, Pastor Joanne Richmond, and Pastor Gloria Stubitsch and Craig; grant them strength, comfort in their treatments, and surround them with loving support and unwavering hope.
God help us be patient and merciful with ourselves, our siblings in Christ and the people around us.
For International Migrants Day (Dec. 18th), that we may support all who seek safety and a new beginning; we give thanks for the work of Global Refuge, Lutheran Services in America, LWF World Service, and the AMMPARO strategy as they empower us to respond to our neighbors with compassion and advocacy.
For the tradition of Las Posadas, that as we follow the lighted paths and remember Mary and Joseph’s search for shelter in Bethlehem, our hearts may be opened to the presence of Christ in the world today; prompt us to welcome, accompany, and serve our neighbors in need, the immigrant, the refugee, and the stranger among us.
For those who serve our communities, often working hours that prevent them from participating in worship and holiday activities. We pray for those working in health care, law enforcement, retail sales, emergency response, the military, social services, ministry the hospitality industry and other vocations that we have come to rely upon.
For the life-giving joy of Christmas, that the light, hope, and salvation of Jesus Christ may continue to shine throughout the world for all people.
